TALC's New Look
TALC is now part of Public Health Law & Policy (PHLP), an organization within the nonprofit Public Health Institute that provides technical assistance on a wide range of legal and policy issues. Our logo has changed, but we will continue to provide California communities with free, high-quality technical assistance on tobacco control policy issues.
New Model Policies for Smokefree Events
TALC has developed two model policies to help organizations limit tobacco use at events: one limits smoking, while the other restricts all tobacco use. Both are included in a single document: Model Tobacco-free or Smokefree Event Policy.
New Checklists for Model Ordinances
Model Ordinance Checklists are now available to help communities sort through the steps and policy options involved in getting a local ordinance adopted. Download checklists for TALC’s model ordinances for regulating tobacco sales through licensing or land use, prohibiting tobacco sampling, and creating smokefree recreational areas and beaches.
